The trips
In the spring (April and May) we offer backcountry skiing trips in the Glacier Fjords. Skiing between fjords where we´ll have the mountains to our own, is really amazing. Usually we never spend more than one night on the same anchorage.
In the summer we offer adventure based trips where we´ll be experiencing the West Fjords doing different and exciting activities like sailing, sea kayaking, snorkelling, mountain biking, wildlife watching, hiking and glacier walking.
Also in the summer, we offer a few specialised trips such as a photographic expeditions in the Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. On these trips a professional photographer will join us to show our guests when and where is best to shoot the wild, wonderful nature of Hornstrandir. On our wildlife trips we are accompanied by a nature specialist from the West Fjords Natural History Institute who will take care of the guiding and make sure nothing is missed. Arctic foxes, seals lying on rocks close to the coast, millions of seabirds in two of the biggest bird cliffs in the North Atlantic and if we´re lucky some sea eagles and whales.
Customized trips and expeditions can be provided to different areas in Iceland, East coast of Greenland and Jan Mayen. Ísafjörður is strategically well situated when thinking about expeditions to Greenland. We are 250 nm from either Kangerdlugssuaq fjord or Scoresby Sound and only 180 nm from the closest point on the Blosseville coast. Jan Mayen is 440 nm away. Drop us a line and tell us about your dream trip.
Full accommodation and provisions (food and beverages - except alchohol) is provided onboard. We take care in preparing nutricious and delicious meals from local ingredients such as fresh seafood, lamb, salads and bread. There will also be plenty of fruits, yogurts etc. Wine and beer may be served with dinner and you may bring your own drinks to be consumed in moderation and only when the anchor is down for the night. We can not allow excessive drinking onboard. As these are expedition style trips but not "cruises", guests are encouraged to help in food preparation, doing dishes etc. If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know well in advance.
Please contact us pr phone or email if you can't find exactly the trip schedule you are looking for. We are always interested to discuss different variations to itineraries and themes and to customize to the wishes of each group.
