Our Alpine ‘Bird’ as she sometimes goes by, flies home to Iceland in the summer as much of our wildlife. Luckily for you she’s back to guide you straight to them. Conservationist at heart, Birte spent a summer in Hornstrandir researching Arctic foxes. Her focus was their poop, and she has the puns to keep you laughing. Our multinational, multi-linguist returning guide loves the expanse of Iceland. It’s nice to be able to describe it in French too, no? Time in nature is time well spent. While admiring the remaining spots of snow, or hiking to beautiful moraines, Isabelle’s knowledge will spark even more wonder.
Hailing from nearby Bolungarvík, Oli’s helpful charm and ‘let’s go’ attitude is energising. He may be one of our youngest guides but takes the profession seriously by pursuing professional guiding training at Mountaineering School of FAS. Loves Iceland, loves guiding.
Lukáš feels home both in the mountains and in the water and loves to explore new terrains to ski and surf. In the winter he is usually on top of snowy mountains or ski patrolling in our local ski area. In the summer you will see him with us on the water or hiking around the mountains. Originally from Germany, Nicole moved to Iceland to study and quickly developed a passion for the country’s stunning scenery and the thrill of surfing in cold, isolated areas. Today, our returning guide resides in Flateyri, where she runs an ocean adventure center. As a seasoned guide, Nicole is the ideal person to accompany you both on land and on the water. Either way, you are guaranteed a great adventure.
Our Canadian outdoorsman is a jack of all trades as you may see him hiking, kayaking and cycling all in one day! His calming personality matches the serene beauty of the area and will be an attractant for bird songs. Luckily for you, his deep ornithological knowledge will identify and turn you bird curious!
The coldest thing about him is his name. He loves to guide and will warm up your day and share insight on what life is like in the Westfjords as a young man.
